The latest of my Romsey Red Cross shop book bargains is a corking little 1940 book for boys, John Wentley Wins Through. I couldn’t do better for a write up than wquote “Collecting Books” who say, At his best J.F.C. Westerman, however, generates a frenetic pace that makes you forget about all the … flaws.
Of course, there are things I see with my slash goggles (like when the ‘chums’, as JFCW calls them, tap Morse code on each other’s hands or legs to communicate!) but overall it’s a joyous little gem.
