The last few days those of us at Cochrane Towers have been aware of an intermittent low, almost-buzzing type noise. Like when your phone is going off buried in a suitcase. Couldn’t find anything in the house, began to suspect it was outside, but what could be making it? It wasn’t even going off with any regularity.
Yesterday, as I opened the upstairs curtains, a possible solution appeared. Directly behind our house, in the adjacent-but-one field, there was a pile of hay, surrounded by contented cows, who I guess have been lowing. Aw.
